I NEED HELP! I need to curl my straight hair and keep it that way!?

I'm in show chior and for our performances we have to curl our hair and then put half up. The past two times it just turns out stringy looking or straight. I have straight hair it has to stay curled for atleast 3 hours! I need details on how to get it curled and keep it that way. When I say details I mean everything from the shampo to use to how long to keep the curlers in.

Some straight hair is tough to get to hold a curl. If you aren't interested in a perm or body wave, consider the old kind of rollers you put in your hair when wet, and then either sit under a hair dryer or leave the rollers in overnight (or longer) until your hair dries naturally. Some mousse beforehand will help the curl stay in...you may get curls that'll last until your next washing if you do it that way.

Curls from hot rollers or a curling iron sometimes don't work well with straight hair, and can "fall out" if the humidity is high.

Hey I an a hairstylist. First you need to shampoo your hair, then if you have some hard rod rollers use those if you don't go to the beauty supply store and buy some. Sit under a hot hair dryer until it dries, you have to use some moose of foam setting lotion so that it will curl aroung the rollers good. Once it dries take the rollers out ant pull the curls a loose. Get some firm holding hairspray, and spray your hair. Wala you have long lasting curls!!
